My work is inspired by the landscape and weather around my home in a village in Wales. Ipaint on canvas and paper my work is poetic and full of colour both bright and muted, texture and feeling. I draw, paint or print using a mix of materials and techniques, working on canvas or paper. I am interested in creating atmosphere in acrylics, which suggest poetic landscape images.

I have an hons degree in Fine Art/Painting and a PGCE in Art and Design. I have workin collections throughout the UK and France.
I exhibit in galleries around the UK. I have had MS since 1996 and am breaking my boundaries with bursts of colour. I am presently looking forwards to an exhibition at Theatr Clywd and Frodsham Art Centre also my solo exhibition at Galeri, Caernarfon.

After studying Illustration at Harrow College where I experimented with different types of printmaking I returned to North Wales to continue developing my work. Drawing is really important within the work I produce, and it is these original lines I manipulate in each piece. Layering and masking different parts of the screen allows many interpretations of the original stencil.

Ronnie studied children’s book illustration which taught her the importance of drawing.  She says you can be quirky and impressionistic in painting style but it has to hang on the drawing.

Ronnie uses rollers rather than a paintbrush, because of the texture it delivers with every roll.  She also uses bits of card, sponges, masking tape etc; which adds more texture and interest to the piece.

Angie Hoopert Fine Artist

Graduating from Bristol with a degree in Graphic Design/Illustration, Angie lives in Mold, North Wales and works from her top floor studio. Working in oils, the Welsh land, sea and skyscapes are the subject of her paintings. Angie finds oil paint the perfect medium due to its fluidity and movement and finds it works well when applied thinly.

She says she has a tendency towards much blending and the building up of layers n a attempt to achieve an element of transparency and a haziness of light.
